I figured since I spend so much of my time working on this blog… I should talk about my love affair with the written word and why I keep coming back and spilling my mind onto this page.

I’ve always written and I’m talking always! I presented my mother with my first short book when I was 4. I had taught myself to write… seriously. There were no vowels apparently and there were almost as many pictures as words, but I wrote it… all by myself. I’ve always kind of had this belief that if you didn’t write it down it wasn’t real. I mean if I were to die tomorrow (and if I do it better be some kind of dramatic dead but the reality is that I’ll probably be pecked to death by the sifty pigeons that live on my balcony… the birds! The birds!) no one would no I’d been here… if it wasn’t for all the weird and wonderful writing projects I’d left behind.

I’ve been keeping a very detailed journal since I was about 13… I have boxes of them. I sometimes cannot even think rationally until I have put my thoughts to paper and I get out all the stuff I could never say out loud (God forbid anyone ever finds them). Since then I dabbled in short stories trough high school and college. My friends devoured them with relish, they were all very dramatic and overly romantic (obviously before my string of failed relationships that made me immune to cheese). Sadly I have no idea where any of them are…probably on the dodgy family computer that my brother traded in for a laptop. I also started a number of ill-conceived novels – but I have the attention span of a flea and my biggest achievement so far was 4 chapters.

Since then, I had a bit of a love affair with poetry… I met this poet, Joel, read his work and thought this is great… I’ll do some too… so if anyone wants to read the poems… here they are - allcomments and critique welcome:

Some are better than others and I haven’t written anything since: “No Backstage Pass” in about November last year… but I do have an idea for a goodie that needs to come out soon.

At the moment I am exercising my writing muscles on this blog which combines two of my greatest loves – writing and the Internet… I also write professionally for work, which is pretty cool. No matter what I’m writing though I love the sound of words, the way they feel and the way they make me feel. Maybe one day a novel will out… if I can sit still for long enough!
